The remaining material in the outer regions of the collapsing cloud eventually formed the protoplanetary disk, from which the planets, including Earth, later formed.

Earth itself came into existence around 4.54 billion years ago, just a few tens of millions of years after the formation of the Sun. During the early stages of its formation, Earth was a hot and molten mass undergoing intense bombardment by planetesimals, small celestial bodies, and asteroids. As Earth cooled down and its surface solidified, water vapor began to condense, leading to the formation of the oceans.

The origin of water on Earth is believed to be linked to the later stages of the planet's formation, around 4.4 billion years ago. At that time, the Earth's surface temperature had decreased to a point where water vapor could condense and accumulate as liquid water on the surface. The water on Earth is thought to have primarily originated from two sources: 

(1) The release of water vapor during volcanic activity and 

(2) The delivery of water-rich comets and asteroids that collided with the planet.

In contrast, the formation of the Sun predates the formation of Earth and its water by a significant margin. The Sun's birth occurred before the solidification of Earth and the subsequent formation of its oceans. Thus, water on Earth cannot be older than the Sun.

It's worth noting that the elements that make up water, such as hydrogen and oxygen, are indeed much older than the Sun.
